Mary Augusta Dalrymple Venables (1834–1865)

Daughter of General Alexander Markovich Poltoratsky (1766–1839) and his wife, Maria Gascoigne. Born in Russia but brought up in Britain by her maternal aunts Elizabeth Pollen and Anne Dalrymple, known as the countess of Haddington from her first marriage to Thomas Hamilton, the 7th Earl (d. 1793). Mary married firstly Francis James Adam (1791–1820) in 1817 in North Berwick, East Lothian, and secondly Richard Lister Venables in 1834.
