Henry Smith
1823–94
Surgeon. Apprenticed to a GP in the West End of London, 1840. Studied at King’s College, London, 1843–6. FRCS 1849. Surgeon to Westminster General Dispensary, 1851; assistant surgeon, King’s College Hospital, 1861; professor of systematic surgery, 1877–87. Specialised in diseases of the rectum, bladder, and urethra.
