William Rolleston
1831–1903
New Zealand public administrator and politician. Brother of George Rolleston. BA, Cambridge (Emmanuel College), 1855. Emigrated to New Zealand to become a sheep farmer in 1858. Involved in local administration from 1863; superintendent of Canterbury province, 1868–76. Member of the New Zealand House of Representatives, 1868–87, 1890–3.
