Thomas Watters
1840–1901
Diplomat. BA, Queen’s College, Belfast, 1861, MA 1862. Joined the foriegn service as a student interpreter in 1863 and was sent to China. Acting consul in Taiwan between 1 March and 31 October 1866, and 1876–7. Vice-consul at Tamsui, 1880–3.
