Studied psychosomatic interactions in illness, and the social and ethical aspects of medicine. Editor of Zeitschrift für psychische Ärzte, 1818–26; of Zeitschrift für die Beurtheilung und Heilung krankhafter Seelenzustände, with Maximilian Jacoby, from 1838.
