Ignácio Francisco Silveira da Mota

Brazilian governor and sugar-cane planter. Born in Goiás. Took his degree at the University of São Paulo. Married into an established family of sugar-cane planters. Appointed president of several provinces: Piauí, 1849, then Ceará, and later Rio de Janeiro. Published articles on plants and agriculture.
