French agriculturalist, writer, and editor. Director of cultivation, Institut agronomique de Versailles. Editor of Journal d’agriculture pratique. Founder and later vice-president of the Société des agriculteurs de France, 1868. Professor of rural economy, Institut agronomique de Paris, 1876. Landowner in Cerçay.
