Orson Squire Fowler

1809–87

Phrenologist and educational writer. Established the Phrenological Museum, Philadelphia, 1838; editor of the American Phrenological Journal from 1842. Established a publishing firm with his brother Orson Squire Fowler and Samuel Robert Wells, issuing phrenological works and other educational writings, 1844. Withdrew from the firm in 1855 to concentrate on architectural writing and works on sex education.
