Bernard Bolingbroke Woodward
1816–69
Older brother of Samuel Pickworth Woodward. As a young man became interested in the congregational church. Pastor of the independent church of Worwell-with-Harleston in Norfolk, 1843–8. Resigned his pastorate in order to devote himself solely to literature. Appointed librarian in ordinary to Queen Victoria, 1860.
