Thomas Abel Brimage Spratt
1811–88
Naval officer, hydrographer, and author. Entered the navy in 1827, and served on several ships that surveyed the Mediterranean; retired from the navy in 1870. Combined his practical contributions to navigation with archaeological studies of the Greek archipelago. FRS 1856.
