Worthington George Smith
1835–1917
Illustrator, botanist, and archaeologist. Apprentice to architects. Became a freelance architectural illustrator in 1861, then turned to botanical illustration. Studied and published in mycology. Beginning in 1878, made several significant discoveries of Palaeolithic sites, publishing two books.
