Charles James Muller

1813–1900

Businessman and magistrate. He and his brother, John, accountant of the Calcutta Mint, were in India for health reasons. Charles was head of the opium factory in Patna and later a magistrate; both were interested in science. Assisted J. D. Hooker with his meteorological observations.
