Percy Egerton Herbert

1822–76

Army officer. Second son of Edward Herbert, second earl of Powis. Served in the Kaffir and Crimean Wars. Deputy quartermaster-general at Horse Guards, 1860–5; at Aldershot, 1865–7. Major-general, 1868. MP for Ludlow, 1854–60; for South Shropshire, 1865–76. Knighted, 1869.
