Lewis Weston Dillwyn
1778–1855
Naturalist and porcelain manufacturer. Author of several natural history works. Head of the Cambrian pottery, Swansea; specialised in natural history designs on porcelain. Whig MP for Glamorganshire, 1832–7. President, Royal Institution of South Wales, 1835–55. Vice-president of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, 1848. FRS 1804.
