Mary Frances Scott-Siddons
b. c. 1840 d. 1896
Actress. Born in India, educated in Germany. Her father was William Young Siddons, lieutenant in the Bengal Native Infantry and grandson of Sarah Siddons. Married T. Chanter, a naval officer, in 1862. Acted in London, Edinburgh, and New York; travelled in the US and Australia, 1872–9.
