Jacques Christophe Valmont de Bomare
1731–1807
French mineralogist and naturalist. Travelled extensively as naturalist for the government before starting annual courses of public lectures at the Jardin des plantes. Author of the Dictionnaire raisonné universel d’histoire naturelle (1764).
