My dear Sir,

I just finished the first Volume, which will be printed off in about three weeks.1 As I still met with some mistakes unnoticed by you I think it well worth to give them here2

x) You say: “Gasteropoda or marine univalve shells.” But the order includes not only marine forms, but also freshwater and land-animals, as you mention yourself a few lines later “pulmoniferous Gasteropoda or landshells.” So I think it might be better to leave out the “marine”.3

I should not like to worry you with requests, but if you could spare a clean copy of the Descent of Man I should be exceedingly obliged to you.4
