I hope that you will be so good as to present to the R. Danish Academy my most sincere thanks for the distinguished honour conferred on me by my election as Member.1 This honour is the more gratifying to me from the number of illustrious naturalists which Denmark has produced & still possesses. Permit me further to thank you cordially for the very kind expressions towards me in your letter, announcing my election.
