Sep. 22. 1876
Dear Sir
I am much obliged for your kind letter, & for sending me that of Prof. Wagner, together with his Essays— I have written to thank him—1
I am at present much overworked & out of health; therefore I shall not read the essays for some time, & when I do I will write to him.2 Under these circumstances I will not ask you to take the trouble of coming to see me.
I beg leave to remain | dear Sir | yours faithfully | Charles Darwin
