To G. J. Romanes 28 January 1882
Down, | Beckenham, Kent. | (Railway Station | Orpington. S.E.R.)
Jan. 28th 1882
My dear Romanes
I feel bound to do what Mr Mc.Alister wishes, though it seems to me superfluous.—1 A page or two is all that I shall be able to write, & it will not be well done, but I will do my best, & no man can do more than that.—
Yours sincerely | Ch. Darwin
