Down, | Beckenham, Kent.

My dear George
I have just read your article.2 It strikes me now as more interesting & able that when I read it in M.S. I feel sure that I shd. been much struck by it, if I had never heard of the author. It also seems to me unusually well written & arranged. Eras.3 remarked spontaneously that it was very well written, & interesting.— I wish you joy. It is a good omen for the future.
Your affectionate Father | Ch. Darwin
Footnotes
Summary
Thinks highly of GHD’s article [probably "On beneficial restrictions to liberty of marriage", Contemp. Rev. 22 (1873): 412–26]. A good omen for the future.
