Henry Wenman Newman

1788–1865

Army officer and landowner. Joined the South Gloucestershire Militia in 1814; captain, 1820; lieutenant-colonel commandant, 1854–60. Succeeded to his father’s estates at Thornbury Park, Gloucestershire, in 1829.
