Peter Joseph Lenné
1789–1866
German gardener and landscape architect. Assistant gardener, Sanssouci, 1816; director, 1822. Founded an academy for gardeners in Schöneberg and Potsdam, 1823. Prussian garden director-general, 1854. From 1840, in charge of urban planning in Berlin.
