Joseph Gabet
1808–53
French missionary in China. Travelled in Tartary and Tibet, 1839–46, part of the time with Évariste Régis Huc. Co-author, with Huc, of an account of their travels. Sent to Brazil in 1848, where he died of yellow fever.
