I shd be much obliged if you would inform me what I owe to the Society Imperiale de Acclimatation for the annual Subscription, including the present year.2

There is an entry in CD’s Account book–cash accounts (Down House MS), dated 23 October 1862, that records a payment of £2 to ‘Acclimatisation Socy.’
The translation is in Emma Darwin’s hand.
