I write one line to thank you much for your full & clear note & for the drawings safely returned.
June will do capitally for me.— I am delighted to hear about the “fat”: I will joyfully make them leaner. I have already added some more text.—2

G. B. Sowerby Jr drew the figures for three of the four Cirripedia volumes and translated CD’s species descriptions into Latin (see n. 2, below).
This refers to CD’s species descriptions, which Sowerby translated into Latin. An entry in CD’s Account Book (Down House MS), 24 June 1850, records the payment of seven guineas for ‘Sowerby Translation of Specific Descriptions’.
