To J. de C. Sowerby 27 August [1850]
Down Farnborough Kent
Aug 27th
My dear Sir
I return P. rigidus.—
I send, also, I am sorry to say two new species to be figured;1 they are minute & are wrapped up in silver paper at top of Box.
Scalpellum tuberculatum will have to be introduced after S. arcuatum.: and Pollicipes semilatus after P. striatus.— The instructions herewith sent are, I think quite sufficient.
Pray observe how time slips by.— Remember that before the Plates are all engraved, I must have drawings for the woodcuts, as these come in Introduction.—2
I hope that these new figures will not cause you much trouble in altering arrangement.3
Yours sincerely | C. Darwin
