To O. C. Marsh 25 January [1873]
Down, | Beckenham, Kent.
Jan. 25th
Dear Sir
I am much obliged to your kindness for having sent me a large supply of your various papers, which I shall be very glad to read, as I do not often see the American Journal of Science.1 I have, however, read with great interest notices in the American Naturalists & other Journals of your several remarkable discoveries. The richness of the western parts of the U. States in fossils seems quite unparalleled.2
With much respect & my best thanks, I remain | Dear Sir | Yours faithfully | Ch. Darwin
