J’ai l’honneur de vous annoncer que la Société d’anthropologie, dans sa séance du 7 Décembre, vous a élu au nombre de ses Mem⁠⟨⁠br⁠⟩⁠e associés étrangers.

Votre diplôme sera mis à votre disposition à partir du jeudi 21 décembre,2 Veuillez m’indiquer la voie par la quelle vous désirez le recevoir.

Je suis heureux, Monsieur, d’être appelé le premier par mes fonctions à saluer en vous un collègue, et je saisis avec empressement cette occasion pour vous présenter l’expression personnelle de mes sentiments très distingués. et respectueux3

Dear Sir and most honoured Colleague,

I have the honour of informing you that at its 7 December meeting the Society of Anthropology elected you to number among its foreign Associate Members.

Your diploma will be at your disposal from Thursday 21 December.2 Would you indicate the way by which you wish to receive it.

I am pleased that my office calls me to be the first person destined to greet you as a colleague, dear Sir, and I welcome this opportunity to offer you a personal expression of my very distinguished and respectful sentiments.3
