Darwin Correspondence Project

To J. D. Hooker   [20 October 1871]

My dear Hooker

I most earnestly hope that you may be successful.

I have written in the strongest terms which I could use to Sir H H.1 & I shall be surprized & much disappointed if he does not accede to your request—

I will despatch your servant at once & so will write no more—.

yours Ever | Ch. Darwin
