Darwin Correspondence Project

To R. F. Cooke   26 February [1871]1

Down, Bromley, Kent. S.E.

Feb. 26

My dear Sir

I have had a note from Dr. Lawson, Editor of Pop. Science Review, on other matters, and he remarks that he is surprised you did not send my Book to this Review of which sale is 2000–3000.2 I remember suggesting this Review to you which is very good and which would be sure to give a good and favourable notice of my Book. I hope that you will reconsider the subject, and send a copy. Dr. Lawson wrote the good article in the London Review.3

Yours very sincerely | C. Darwin
