From Robert Swinhoe 16 October 1869
33 Oakley Square. SW.
16 October, 1869.
My dear Mr. Darwin,
I have returned from China to England.1 I took the route via Japan to San Francisco and across the American continent to New York & thence to Liverpool. I have a book of fine photographs of Japanese which somewhat illustrate expression. This I would much like you to see.2 If agreeable to you I will send the book to your house.
I trust that you are improved in health.
Your’s very truly, | Robert Swinhoe
