My Dear Sir
I enclose my note of hand at 4 Mo’s from Mar 2. for £420 " as agreed.2 I trust it will reach you safely—
The son of Mr Clowes our Printer—a gentleman educated at Eton & Oxford is to be ballotted for at the Athenæum next Monday.3 I do not suppose you venture out at night, but if you think fit to speak to friends on Mr W Clowes behalf I venture to think he is not undeserving—
