Mr Schweizerbart wishes to advertise your new book and to give a short prospectus of it.¹ I promised him to write some few lines, but I cannot do it without knowing the exact title of the work. Judging from the inscription on the first page it will be “On the variation of Animals and Plants under Domestication.” But I prefer to ask you directly for it. Possibly you had already a proof of the title-page.

When will the remainder of Vol. I come? As the winter term begins now I should be very glad to get it soon.²
