The identity of the recipient is conjectured from CD’s Down Coal and Clothing Club account book (Down House MS). The only year in which a contribution is listed from both ‘C. Lovegrove’ and ‘M^rs Lovegrove’ is 1866. The original letter is complete and is one page long.
