Having laid before the Lords &c your Letter of the 16 Inst inclosing the Account of Messrs Smith & Elder for the first part of the Work entitled The Zoology of the Voyage of H.M.S. Beagle, which is now published, amounting to the sum of £68.10.10. I am commanded by their Ldps to acquaint you that this payt. will be made to Messrs. Smith and Elder at any time by Mr. Sargent,1 at this Office, on their Application; and that payment will in like manner be ordered to be made hereafter on the receipt of a Certificate from you of the Sum required to be paid, accompanied by a document of the same nature as that now transmitted.— 23d Feb. 1838 A Y Spearman
