My dear Sir
I am requested by a few of my dearest friends, who hold a high position here-about, to ask you if you can and will, amongst your numerous engagements, come down here to give a Lecture upon “Evolution”.1 They are most anxious as so much that is weak and illogical is being talked about & refuted. Kindly reply by two lines and I will write again.
Obediently. yrs | T. Dixon Spain
To | Professor Darwin.
