Darwin Correspondence Project

To J. S. Bowerbank   17 March [1850]1

Down Farnborough Kent

March 17th

My dear Sir

I write a line merely to thank you for your very complete information regarding Mr Hanley’s residence. I will certainly visit him when next I stay in London; but London unfortunately always disagrees with my health. I enclose with many thanks stamps (which I hope will not be inconvenient) for Eling’s specimen.—2

Yours very sincerely | C. Darwin

Footnotes

The date is confirmed by a copy of the letter in DAR 143, in which the copyist recorded a postmark: ‘March 18th., 1850.’
