From J. D. Hooker 25 June 1877
Royal Gardens Kew
June 25/77.
Dear Darwin
This insatiable Emperor has been again worrying me about you—& makes me promise to write to you & say that he hopes you will tell him if you should be coming to London or to Down this week as he would make a point of visiting you at either place.1 The best plan would be to write to the Viscomte Bom Retiro Claridge’s Hotel—2
The wedding went off extremely well yesterday, the weather was fine & we gave the wedding breakfast in a Tent—3
Ever affy yrs | J D Hooker
