Darwin Correspondence Project

To Ernst Haeckel   31 December 1876

Down, | Beckenham, Kent. | Railway Station | Orpington. S.E.R.

Dec 31. 1876

My dear Häckel,

It is very kind of you to send me your new & improved edition of ‘Anthropogenie’ &c’ & I thank you heartily.1 I sent you lately a copy of my new book on cross-fertilisation, as I thought that you would like to possess the complete series of my works.2 But I knew that the present one would not interest you; & do not waste your time by acknowledging its receipt.

My dear Häckel | Yours very sincerely | Charles Darwin
