Malcolm Alexander (Malcolm) Morris
1849–1924
Surgeon, dermatologist, and medical editor. Studied medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, London; MRCS Eng., 1870. Worked as a general practitioner in Yorkshire before returning to London to study skin diseases at the Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, Blackfriars. Joint lecturer and, later, surgeon in charge of the skin department at St Mary’s. Published a manual of skin diseases in 1879. FRCS Ed., 1880. Appointed medical editor for Cassell and Co.; editor of the Practitioner, 1895–1902. Served as dermatology section president for the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Medical Association, and on many public health committees and commissions. Knighted, 1908.
