James Henry Brooks

1831–1920

Colonial civil servant. Son of James Henry Brooks, surgeon, of Henley-upon-Thames. Studied at Guy’s Hospital, 1851; MRCSEng 1854. Surgeon to 1st Royal Regiment, Lancashire Militia, 1857. Medical officer, Seychelles, from 1858 until his retirement in 1883.
