Edward Horsman
1807–76
Scottish politician. Attended Trinity College, Cambridge, from 1823. Admitted advocate of the Scottish bar, 1832. Commissioner of inquiry into the Church of Scotland. MP for Cockermouth, 1836–52; for Stroud, 1853–68; for Liskeard, 1869–76. Chief secretary for Ireland, 1855–7.
