John William Lubbock, 3d baronet
1803–65
Astronomer, mathematician, and banker. A neighbour of CD’s in Down. First vice-chancellor of London University, 1837–42. Entered the family bank, 1827. Treasurer and vice-president of the Royal Society of London, 1830–5 and 1838–47. Succeeded to the baronetcy in 1840. FRS 1829.
