Your Twining & Climbing Plants” seems to me a very curious book & I am quite willing to publish it for you on the conditions adopted in your previous publications—I taking all risque

I return the MS with this as I believe you propose making some alterations in the MS—now that it is to come forth as a separate volume2

Climbing plants 2d ed. was published in November 1875 (Publishers’ circular 1875); CD had originally planned to publish it as part of Insectivorous plants (letter to J. V. Carus, 7 February 1875). The first edition was published as a double issue of the Journal of the Linnean Society (Botany) (‘Climbing plants’) and as a book (Climbing plants) published by Longmans and Williams & Norgate.
