A friend of ours, Col: le Couteur of Jersey, whose tastes & pursuits are similar to your own, and who takes the greatest interest in your writings & researches, has written to us, to request an introduction, and mentioning, that he has some further information which he thinks will amuse you.1

No letter from John Le Couteur has been found, but see the letter to John Le Couteur, 6 April [1871]. Charlotte’s husband was Francis Rhodes Darwin.
