Dear Sir
I am much obliged for your note.2 It would have given me great pleasure to have had you as the Translator into Dutch of my new book. But Dr Hartogh van Zouteveen applied some time ago & has already completed a large part of vol. I, to be published by Mr. Ijkema of Delft.—3 So it is impossible for me to make any change.—
Dear Sir | Yours faithfully | Ch. Darwin
