From John Lubbock   29 March 1867

15, Lombard Street. E.C.

29 Mar. 67

My dear Mr. Darwin

Thanks for your information.1

It is an age since we have met. I should be delighted to see you any Sunday, or will come up next time I am at home.2

Would you like to have a look at McLennan’s book?3

Believe me | Yours very sincerely | John Lubbock

C. Darwin Esq

Footnotes

CD had suggested that he and Lubbock meet on a Sunday; Lubbock spent much of the week at his house in London. The Lubbock family estate, High Elms, bordered the grounds of Down.
No answer to Lubbock’s letter has been found, but see the letter to John Lubbock, 26 March [1867] and n. 1.
