Mr Darwin begs me to thank you for your note & Remarks on the partridge’s leg.1 He has been so ill as not to be able to attend to any thing & he still cannot even write a note,2 but he will send [for] the specimen as soon as he can & examine it with care. He begs to be very kindly remembered to you.
