My dear Sir
It gives me very sincere pleasure to inform you that the Council of the Royal Society have awarded you the Copley Medal for the eminent services you have rendered in the three departments of geology zoology and botany.1 I hope that your health will permit you to attend at the Anniversary Meeting on the 30th Inst. when I may have the pleasure of delivering the Medal to you.2
